About the event
We are happy to inform you that the “Energy Conversion and Storage Days” - a 3-days event with a top-class programme - will be held from 21 – 23 March 2023 in Karlsruhe. The event is organized by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and will take place at the premises of KIT, Campus Nord in Karlsruhe/Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen.

Meeting mode:
Please note that due to their interactive character most of the meetings of the “Energy Conversion and Storage Days” will take place in person without streaming at FTU at KIT Campus North (Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen).

Location/Transfer:
All meetings will take place in person on Tuesday (21 March 2023), Wednesday (22 March 2023) and Thursday (23 March 2023) in the morning at the Center for Advanced Technological and Environmental Training/Fortbildungszentrum für Technik und Umwelt (FTU) at KIT Campus North. Campus North of KIT is located in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, about 12 km north of Karlsruhe.
How to reach FTU at KIT Campus North:
Bus transfer:
There are buses hired to take all participants from Karlsruhe to FTU/KIT Campus Nord in the morning and return at the end of the event in the afternoon (21 and 22 March 2023 direct bus transfer to the restaurants). Buses will also be hired for the site visits, including the trip to Fraunhofer ICT in Pfinztal on Thursday, 23 March 2023. On Thursday evening, after the get-together, the buses will drive back from Pfinztal to Karlsruhe (~21:15 h, arrival at Hotel Kübler). In the morning the buses will depart from Hotel Kübler, Bismarckstraße 37 – 43 76133 Karlsruhe at 8:15 am. Please be on time!
Arriving by car:
Please use the following entry to find FTU/KIT Campus Nord with a navigation system: Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, Hermann-von-Helmholtz-Platz 1. Alternatively, you can use the link to Google Maps. The route to the premises is well signposted in the immediate vicinity. Follow the sign "KIT Campus Nord".
The FTU building and parking spaces are located just before the main gate of KIT Campus Nord on the left-hand side. Alternatively, you can use the parking across the street in front of the ZEISS building.
Arriving by public transport:
Tram line S9 from Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station) in the direction of Mannheim/Hauptbahnhof. Trams operate at 40 minute intervall. Travelling time approximately 30 minutes. At Blankenloch change to bus no.195 Leopoldshafen Leopoldstraße which goes directly to "Campus Nord Südtor" (main entrance gate) opposite to the FTU.
Tram lines S1/S11 from Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station) in the direction of Leopoldshafen/Hochstetten. Trams operate at 20 minute intervall. Travelling time approximately 50 minutes. At Leopoldstraße in Leopoldshafen change to bus no.195 which goes directly to "Campus Nord Südtor" (main entrance gate) opposite to the FTU.

*The restaurant is located in a pedestrian area. If you plan to come by car there are parking possibilities at Karlsruhe Schloss Park (free of charge, ~15 – 20 min walk) or at the Schlossplatz (parking garage, ~10 min walk).
Please note that the dinners on all three days are FREE of charge for registered participants. However, to comply with providers policy for limiting food waste, a fee of €10 will be charged to those registered for the dinner who do NOT come.
